Hi Claire, It was delightful to meet you at Badminton and I went home happily clutching my three pairs of pants. Two for me and one for my chum on the end of a phone! I have ridden in the pants and they are supremely comfortable. Both I and my friend are delighted with our purchases and sing their praises to our chums. I plan to put a piece about them in our forthcoming newsletter and I shall be saying how good they are so thank you once again for a super product.
"The Padded Shortys are always my first choice if I know I'll be riding more than a few horses in a day as I'm always confident in the knowledge that from the first ride to the last they'll stay put, not rub and I'll never get achy bum cheeks!! As the padded boxers were so comfortable, I found that when I tried the non-padded ones they delivered the same level of style and a perfect fit. I found myself reaching for my Derrrieres every time I open the underwear drawer, whether I'm heading to the yard or out in the town!
On numerous occasions I've had people comment in passing about the superior, good looking fit of the navy Treviso Breeches and having worn them several days a week since getting them, they are obviously very durable and extremely well made.
Saving the best till last is the competition Cannes Breeches... I can categorically say I have never found such a good looking pair of whites! The material they're made of feels soft and has a nice give and the fit is both complementary and stylish whilst not sacrificing any of the comfort and practicality that all of the Derriere products seem to bring!"

Just wanted to say a big thank you for my new wonder pants!!! I mostly ride and compete side saddle. I will be honest and say I was sceptical about them but thought I'd give them a go! I would just like to say a massive thank you after receiving the Derrière Wonder Panty last week. They were my first pair so I was not sure how I would find them, however I needed no doubts as when out riding they were extremely comfortable with no rubbing - especially when sitting on a very bouncy horse! I have my first pair on as I type this. I really like them. I think I am going home to my delivery of my 2nd pair today. I have always been a Pikeur fan and would never wear anything else. I liked pleated front and full seat, but Pikeur have stopped making that style. So for about a year I have been trying different brands and styles to no avail. I even tried John Whitaker's, but the seat is rubbing away. Some of my Pikeur's I have had 8 years!! I have just sent a pair of Schockemoehle back to Inches, as they didn't fit. I am a 32 waist but a skinny leg etc. I can safely say that yours are the best!! I have worked in one of the biggest tack shops I'm my younger years. I was also an adviser at SPOGA for the male range last year. Us men get a bit of a raw deal. I find men's breeches boring, but I like the pocket detail/zip and branding of yours! So well done, you have made a very fussy person happy!

I have been converted to padded pants grin emoticon I used to wear cycling pants while riding but found they were extremely obvious and looked like i was wearing a nappy but no longer with the help of “The Derriere Equestrian Padded Support System” they feel great look great and are so comfy i will not ride without them i have also converted a few of my friends that ride grin emoticon I recommend these pants to anyone who rides as they are so comfy, you dont feel like your wearing anything and nobody can tell your wearing padded pants grin emoticon

I bought them at Olympia in December and thought I would keep them for jumping in.
Lola and I have had a few delays last year due to wolf teeth being removed and I then went and dislocated my finger, we had our first jumping lesson last week wearing new shorts, I love them, wow wow wow, so comfy, don't move at all, I love them so much I had to hack in them as well, definitely purchasing some more.

Recently I won a pair of Derrieres equipped with ‘The Derriere Equestrian Padded Support System’ and I was excited to find out what all the hype was about.
I must admit I was a little apprehensive. As a girl in her 20’s I wasn’t sure if I wanted, or needed, padded underwear. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, these are one classy pair of pants. They look quality and they certainly feel like it too. You can see that much thought and care has gone into the design.
It is a struggle for riders (especially for us girls) to find a pair of underwear that fits seamlessly under breeches and the first thing I was worried about was that dreaded VPL (Visible Pant Line). Well if it is a VPL you’re worried about, fear no more ladies, you’ll barely notice the underwear once your breeches are on. The stitching ensures they sit flush against the leg and bum, and the material gives a snug fit preventing the underwear gathering and creasing in all the wrong places.
Taking the underwear for a test ride proved that it lived up to its glowing reputation. I underwent a full day of hunting and was surprised at how comfy I felt in the saddle, no rubbing whatsoever! The underwear added an extra level of comfort and in a strange way, security.
Retailing at £34.99 you won’t be disappointed by the underwear. These are a staple for any riders wardrobe and an impressive pair of pants. I will most definitely be putting in another order.
The shorts have been an absolute skin saver. I'm also very impressed as to how well they stand up to being washed and dried every night, so that I may wear them every day.......I have tried other brands such as ....... and the claim they have and quality have unfortunately not lived up to expectation.

Many thanks for your reply. I rave ridden in derrière products. My step mum got me a pair of black padded shorts last September. My Ehlers Danlos syndrome affects my skin, meaning it is incredibly fragile.
As a para dressage rider I cannot ride to the trot and therefore sit very heavily. Being so close to the saddle, I easily acquire pressure sores and chaffing from regular underwear and certain types of breeches.
The shorts have been an absolute skin saver. I'm also very impressed as to how well they stand up to being washed and dried every night, so that I may wear them every day.
Your breeches also interest me as they have a stretchy panel at the ankle.

I am a happy hacker so don’t ride that often but being a sufferer of long term coccyx pain I have tried everything going to relieve the pain including surgery! I saw your advert in Your Horse magazine and purchased a pair of the padded shorty. Having tried everything, I have to say I was a bit sceptical but I have to say your product is amazing. The reason they are so brilliant from my perspective is the way you had designed the padded part into a shape which follows the contour of the saddle which is a fantastic and very clever concept. They are so comfortable and really do reduce the compression impact and also they don’t ride up your legs! Your product is truly awesome and I am going to buy some more and some for my wife who also has spinal issues.
Keep up the good work and thanks for making my riding experience more comfortable!

At last some feedback for you!
I rode today and did a fair bit of trotting and wore the shorts. I have to say I found them amazing! Whilst they don't eliminate 100% of the pain, I was amazed how much they cushion the impact and much better than I had expected. Earlier in the day, I had also sat on a flat hard surface with them on. What is interesting is although they helped, they were far more effective in the saddle due to the way you have shaped the pad following the contour of the saddle so you have got he design for what they are primarily intended for spot on! I am so impressed that I am now going to buy my wife a pair as she had a back operation five years ago and I think she too will benefit from a pair. I am also happy to write a testimonial for you. I have to say, I am really impressed with your product and I think I will buy a few more pairs. Oh, the other thing I like is the way the shorts do not ride up like most boxer shorts! One final thing......I know you have really geared yourselves towards and focused on the equestrian market but have you considered trying to get into the snow boarding market? I would have thought there is demand for your product in ski board pants which you can also buy with padding?? Just a thought!

They look great (I chose purple as I really liked the colour and it matches the embroidery…………once my wife got over the wackiness of the colour she thought they looked great too. She has had spinal surgery following a nasty riding accident, so once I have road tested them, she may be a new customer for you!) and they certainly are not as clumsy looking as I thought they might appear. The wife bought me a full Derriere package for Christmas and am so pleased with the products I wanted to let you know how successful they are turning out to be. I am a male rider, I compete at BE Intermediate level & have for yers been riding in padded cycle shorts. For the male rider there are some problems associated with undergarments and cushioning! I have to say, your padded shorty is excellent, very comfortable & less bulky than the products I have used to date.
Your Breeches combine both style & comfort, so thanks for furnishing us male riders with some serious style & comfort in the saddle for 2015!

Not only did I have a fantastic day at the stunning location of Westonbirt School on Thursday but the pants and shorty’s have all been worn now rand tested in the saddle riding my two horses and I can honestly say these are the most comfortable undies I have ever worn! Going back to Thursday, the massage with Dee from DynamicHuman EquineSportmassage was much needed and got rid of some aches, lunch was lovely (I packed in 3 helpings), the team were all lovely, I met some great people (especially the adorable runner up Rachael), I got to meet the lovely Binky and Derrière mascot Humbug who despite peeing in the library was impeccably mannered - he even shook my hand which is impressive for a miniature pony (he did at least miss the rug when he pee'd). The venue was just stunning, it was like a day at Hogwarts! I love the fact the headmistress has such a cool name Miss Dangerfield! Brilliant!

Going back to Thursday, the massage with Dee from DynamicHuman EquineSportmassage was much needed and got rid of some aches, lunch was lovely (I packed in 3 helpings), the team were all lovely, I met some great people (especially the adorable runner up Rachael), I got to meet the lovely Binky and Derrière mascot Humbug who despite peeing in the library was impeccably mannered - he even shook my hand which is impressive for a miniature pony (he did at least miss the rug when he pee'd). The venue was just stunning, it was like a day at Hogwarts! I love the fact the headmistress has such a cool name Miss Dangerfield! Brilliant!

Behind the scenes photo from Derriere finals photoshoot this week at the picturesque Westonbirt School. I adore these breeches. I used them for training yesterday and they are so comfortable. They don't feel restricting like many do and the detailing on the front and back is beautiful. Perfect for competing and also available in navy. I know I will be getting my next pair soon xxx

Hi I'm Gemma and I was one of the very lucky finalist to be selected to do the Derriere Equestrian photo shoot at Westonbirt school, it was a fabulous day and all at Team Derriere were very welcoming, the underwear was incredibly comfortable and I was particularly impressed at how good they looked, it's a great design! The breeches are so stylish with the purple detailing and also very comfortable, I would highly recommend that people try out these products and again a huge thanks to Team Derriere, Westonbirt School and to all the other lovely finalist you were all great x

So comfortable! I felt like I could use my seat more effectively as I wasn't wriggling around to dodge seams!
You would not even know I'm wearing padded pants! No VPL and soooo comfortable to ride in! Highly recommended. Love Them !

Had a day’s hunting wearing my new Derriere Equestrian knickers!!!! Absolutely brilliant, my lucky bottom is about the only thing that doesn't ache now as I stayed out far too long and I thoroughly recommend them. Hardly noticeable through my breeches and really, really comfortable. I feel very middle-aged but I have to say that there's no going back now!!! GENIUS.

I was a little dubious, but gave them a try! You really have created the perfect seat. I ride 4 horses a day, am in the saddle for many hours. I compete in Eventing and Dressage and am delighted to say that your products have really helped to remove some of the issues I have experienced over the years with underwear fitting issues under my breeches. Your products are I have to say, outstanding, rubbing, bulky stitched seams and saddle sores are a thing of the past. I really do love my Derriere's!

Who would have thought a piece of velco and a pair of pants could be so life changing!! Thank you Claire Galer my backside will be eternally garteful for your your incredible pants., not only am I no longer rubbed to shreds but they have taken the impact out of my boys MASSIVE trot! Off to try out my new derrières, purchased at Your Horse Live on a nice long hack this morning. Shall report back ... Thumbs up for the derrières. Went out for pushing 2 hours with quite a bit of trotting and cantering. My Friesian girl has a big action and I've been getting some pain in my hip recently. Couldn't tell I had them on, except that canter was definitely more comfortable, She was getting a bit excited coming back and jogging and normally I would be in pain when she does this, but hip was fine. Just put them through a 30 minute wash at 30 degrees and they've come out perfect.

I would just like to say a massive thank you after receiving the Derrière Wonder Panty last week. They were my first pair so I was not sure how I would find them, however I needed no doubts as when out riding they were extremely comfortable with no rubbing - especially when sitting on a very bouncy horse! I think everyone who rides should get a pair!
Additionally I was very impressed with the easy use of your website and how quickly the pants were delivered.

"I was very excited to receive the knickers and when they arrived it was like getting an early birthday present! The packaging was really neat and compact and I couldn’t wait to get them on. I loved the bright purple colour and was quite surprised to see that the padding was not as bulky as I had imagined. I was originally slightly worried that it might look as though I had butt implants but the knickers are discreet and look great!
I decided to go for a long hack on my first horse and stayed mainly in walk. I thought this would really put them to the test as whenever I hack out I always end up standing in my stirrups due to a sore backside! I can honestly say that they were really comfortable and I was able to sit happily in the saddle for the whole hack. I then took my second horse for some canter work and they were equally comfortable! I liked the fact that they stayed in place and didn’t move around!
I will certainly be using Derriere knickers a lot more, I will be adding them to my Christmas wish list. Let’s hope that they turn out to be lucky knickers as well ..." Catherine Mills

My first dilemma was what size to order, particularly as the garment could not be returned if I was wrong. It would have been helpful to have included better guidance on what you meant by Large/Extra large (waist size I assume is what the European guidance meant – why not British too?). With a waist of about 38 I do not consider myself overlarge but am relieved I ordered the larger size. I have ridden in them now for a week or so. I school three or four horses a day and therein lies my second dilemma. I am well into my 70s and need more frequently than in my youth to stop for a pee. But there is no fly! This operation now requires considerable derangement of breeches etc to accomplish. Was the design properly tested with this in mind? Did the men who did the field trials have cast iron bladders? Or perchance my version did by some mischance not meet the designers specification – a failure to snip in the manufacturing process?
With these two caveats I have to say that I am pleased with the product: I find I can ride more in contact with the horse and welcome the extra support it gives me. My wife is now considering joining the team and with no such issues that I face could also become a loyal follower.
