Coral Keen's Latest News, July 2015...

"The 2015 season has so far been an incredible one – my best to date – with all my horses performing successfully and the plans I made at the beginning of the year have all come to fruition.

Osberton Five Year Old Championships 1st – 5th October

Our home bred Total Belief (April) has so much talent that I’ve campaigned her with her long term future in mind, not wanting to press her across country and making sure all the foundations are very firmly laid.
That said, she finds it all so easy and after contesting her first four events, where she finished 1st, 4th, 2nd and 1st respectively, I decided to take her slowly at her next three outings to ensure the basics are established, including at Purston Manor last month where she scored a phenomenal 16 in her dressage.
At Bicton Arena on Saturday I felt she was ready to push on again, much to her delight, and she won the competitive 5yo section finishing on her dressage score of 23.5 which qualifies her for the 5yo championships at Osberton in October.

The Festival of British Eventing 7th – 9th August

Our home bred Cascadelle has had an incredible season with nine runs under her belt including winning four. Like with April, when a horse possesses a lot of talent its easy to be tempted to push them on too quickly, so at Aston Le Walls and Pontispool in May I again took a step back with her, before she won again at West Wilts in June, and then finished third at Purston Manor qualifying her for Gatcombe.
She is still a very young horse, and with her future in mind, I have decided not to ride her at Gatcombe as I don’t feel it is right for her at this stage in her career. Instead she’ll be going to Bicton CIC* and Gatcombe CIC* before heading to the young horse championships at Osberton in October.

Highmead Proposition

Jake has confirmed he has a huge future in eventing. We started very steadily and then at Pontispool the penny dropped when he did an incredible round across country to finish 4th. He followed that with 9th at West Wilts, a win at Purston Manor and 5th at Bicton on Saturday. I am very excited about Jake!

Land Rover Burghley 3rd – 6th September

Derby (Wellshead Opposition) is back in work having had a short break following Luhmuhlen where he was 17th in the CCI4*.

He feels fantastic and the aim with him is Land Rover Burghley in September. I’ve learned a lot from our experience at Luhmuhlen and I’m very hopeful of a top ten placing."
