The Steppe Sisters' Sophie has been considering survival strategies recently in preparation of the Mongol Derby...
Less than one month to go... Preparing for the
Mongol Derby has become a second full time job. It seems like every bit of my
free time is now taken up by riding, going to the gym, buying equipment or
considering different survival strategies.
Although Sian and I are on different sides of
the channel, we speak almost every day either via numerous emails, texts or
phone calls and have been preparing in similar ways. I think James, her fiancé,
is beginning to feel left out. Despite this he has continued to be an enormous
help.
We have encountered many difficulties from the
start and I sincerely hope that the perseverance that has bought us this far
will lead us to the finish line, together, in one piece but more importantly
allow us to raise important funds for our charities.
I have chosen Agronomes et Vétérinaires sans
frontières (AVSF) as my charity because it is a fantastic international charity
which helps livestock farmers internationally group together to combat animal
disease. The work of the charity benefits both their owners and their animals
through improving animal health systems and farming practices in order to
improve productivity.
This is the link to my charity :
